Permission to Pivot

Permission to pivot. Over and over again. And again. Sometimes the course we set out on has served it’s purpose, and we gather our learnings, and our confidence, and we change course.

We do our best, but as soon as we’re sacrificing, whether that be relationships, resources, or our devotion to ourselves - permission to re-evalute. To take a step back, check-in with yourself, and notice, Is this still alive for me? Or has it lost it’s spark? Am I chasing something I no longer recognize? Or perhaps I’m concerned with what others will think, what I’ll think. How can I be in alignment with my values, my integrity, my joy?

I’m constantly pivoting. Following the flow of energy until it reaches a dead end. What could have been considered failures once upon a time are paths that have led me to new and more nuanced spaces, places, and people. Like an intricate root system that if you zoomed out would be hard to discern what connects to what, but a closer look shows each individual tendril burrowing it’s way through the dirt, sharing and receiving information from the interconnected network.

It’s brave to start a new, and that can sometimes frighten others, too. Trust what you know to be true, when the wind changes directions, a sailor changes the sails, otherwise- a standstill.

Permission to pivot, to live your life in a way that feels ALIVE.
